The story behind this image.

"During the government shutdown, many roads and parking lots were closed, and access to the nature around me was limited. This didn’t stop me, however, and I decided to turn this inconvenience into a positive.

I try and make time in my day every day to observe the sunset. On this particular sunset, I decided to do a trip to Rodeo Beach that's located north of the Golden Gate Bridge to create some experimental long exposure shots. Accompanying me was my Dad, and my dog, Leyla.

After the shoot, as we were driving home, I decided to come through Conzelman Road and enjoy the view of the Golden Gate once more. Because of the shutdown, the two-way road had become a one-way road and I saw this as the perfect opportunity to safely shoot a long exposure of the car on the road with the starlit night sky. I parked the car on the side of the road and told my Dad to stay inside with Leyla. I ran out and set up the tripod, composed the shot in front of the car and set it on a 10-second timer. I then ran back and lit the car with my phone’s flashlight. The result was this image and the effect of electricity."
